another possibility is that nolo has been somehow overwritten ..

can you give more info about how did this happen ? what commands did you run ? what did you install/remove ? did you drop the phone ? do you over clock aggressively ? do you unplug/plug your n900 to usb/charger in an physically aggressive way (usb port is quite weak) ?

Are you running Windows 7?
I would recommend you try flashing from a PC running Windows XP.

one thing left to do..
try cold flashing from another PC, if you can't get it to cold flash and you are sure the battery is full, and that the usb port is not broken, sadly you will have to send it to nokia for repair/replacement.
just maybe you are flashing it the wrong way
when cold flashing you dont have to press "U" or anything, just plug the n900 when its off to your pc.
open up a terminal, cd to where you downloaded the combined image
unpack it
then run the command from the wiki, make sure you replace 2101 by the correct hardware revision, maybe thats why it failed..
please copy the output and post it here...
if it succeeded proceed by executing the next command from the wiki which is flashing nolo.
after that normally flash the rootfs and the emmc.
