I have the problem that my OS2008 on the N800 does not finish booting when I have my internal card with my OS2007 clone inserted. I can use the bootmenu fine and boot into the 'old' OS. But when I choose to boot the 'new' OS from the flash it always reaches the point that the blue bar at the bottom of the screen is all the way to the end and then nothing happens. I have to remove battery to be able to reboot.
If I remove the internal card everything works fine.
Any progress on the Skype issue? Should we submit a bugzilla report or something? Was the comment by someone about a version check being implemented incorrectly looked into?
Sorry for such an ugly post, don't have much time to check itT from work
I really like this new os and haven't found a reason to go back to os2007 yet. My browser hasn't crashed yet and very stable. The only thing that has crashed was the app manager when installing pidgin. The lack of apps is the only reason I would go back but at this point the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.
BTW, Rhapsody is awesome. It hasn't crashed yet and the os2008 version has a few more added features like the applet, the album and artist page.

I have found a way to make Skype work, but it's a little tedious if you don't have OpenSSH or Dropbear SSH installed. You'll need to do this as root, either by using ssh root@(your n800 IP) or sudo gainroot from the X-term application (Only works you are in R&D mode). I did an apt-get skype; this will download the deb package to /var/cache/apt/archives (and produce the standard error). You can then install it manually using dpkg:
dpkg -X /var/cache/apt/archives/skype_1.7.62.48.2_armel.deb /
This will extract it to the root directory without running the flawed setup script. Once you do that the Skype application listed under "My Selection" will work. I'm not sure what the setup scripts do but they don't seem to be essential and the next time you install something else they'll run (automatically) without any errors.
Try to reflash; I have the same situation (tough my OS2008 is the N810 one) but regular behaviour (both the OSs boot)
I reflashed to the OS2008 for N800 which came out yesterday. But again I still have this behaviour. With card I can boot OS2007 from card and booting from flash hangs without card I can boot from flash.
Strange. Well, maybe the official OS2008 will not have this problem
