Helo,
just got my new to me 770. it has a maemo mapper on it but no map. I tried to get it to load map yesterday at home with wireless router, but url no good. where online can i download maps to put into my 2gig so i can jsut retrieve it there?
also, what is MAC at the setting area?

google knows it all, just read it on the developerīs page.

and try the search function of this forum, there are several threads about maemo mapper. look at the version you use.

this is a great tool, i love it. gnuite did a fantastic job! ;-)

yah, i read that site.. but it seems like u have to download it directly to the 770. can i download it to the pc, and file transfer it to my 2gig that way? no connection at work here.

While in general I agree with the advice given to search the forum the Maemo mapper threads are many pages long so it could take quite a while to find info when you're trouble-shooting.

On the "Maps" submenu of Mameo mapper there is an option for "Auto-Download". Make sure that it is ticked.

That is where you enter the Mac address of your bluetooth GPS unit if you have one for use with Maemo mapper.

thanks for the responce. now, we still cannot have map preloaded into the 2gig for browsing, without gps? i went to google map, but it ask us to download some knd of software.

i think without a gps-receiver maemo mapper does not know where you are, and in case of that, it canīt download your needed maps.
i doubt if thereīs a way to download the maps on a pc an transfer them to your ITT. afaik maemo mapper uses da kind of database to manage the cards...

correct me if iīm wrong.
