After installing avahi-daemon I noticed that avahi-daemon is not started automatically.

How can I let the device start this daemon

Code:
/etc/init.d/avahi-daemon start
automatically after boot time (when the network drivers are loaded) ?

AFAIK avahi IS started automatically. There is a script in /etc/network/ifup.d that starts it when you are connected to a network and another scritp in /etc/ifdown.d that stops it when you disconnect.
