Here's a screenshot of my desktop with the missing icons :
i have made angry birds rio and gtranslate icon, for angry bird rio look for usr/share/icons/symbian-anna-icon/scalable/hildon rename it according to hicolor.
For grtranslate go to /usr/share/icons/symbian-anna-icons/pixmaps replace it to usr/share/pixmaps .
But back up first or use my scyript.

Any chance you can check / edit your Desktop and see if you have the Desktop menu option "Manage Views".
"Manage View" shows the 9 possible desktops available and can be selected by tapping on them.
Woah...just plugged in my USB cord for the first time in ages, and the USB icon (I'm afraid) looks like a grey pebble up there. Not impressed. Maybe one more like the stock icon?
Also, in Modest and camera app, the DELETE icon is pretty confusing.
Not to sound whiney, but the DELETE icon in modest (and I think in photos and elsewhere) looks exactly like 'software update' from symbian. (Green box, White arrow)
