This thread needs the "YES NITDROID" flag like the flash 10.3 one...

Find attached a patch (and other goodies) for kernel-power v46. The patch updates DSP bridge driver to version allowing us to use latest TI dsp codecs and those from android (for OMAP3430 of course). With using this patch(and DSP MPEG4 decoder from Omnia HD) I was able to play (not perfectly but the problem looks like gstreamer related) MPEG4 video with resolution of 1280x720. Just a POC. Lot more work in userland is needed until we got perfectly working 720p video (both play and record), but this patch seems to be enough from the kernel side.

More details in readme.txt in attached zip.

EDIT 08.05.2011: Attachment updated so no more userland libraries need to be changed.

I think this patch will get merged into kernel power 48

And was is stopping me from upload of 1280x720 compatible libraries in extras-devel is that I still have not managed to display hi-res video on tv-out without breaking compatibility with existing media players. Maybe all this stuff should be implemented as a part of open MP, though I should discuss it first with MAG.

To the OP - are you able to see those hi-res videos on tv?

    trolling you, are the troll,

it is very easy , the people likes maemo say thanks and say all information and write tutorials about:

install nitdroid, install bochs-qemu , install catalogues , flash firmwares etc...., trial-boot ,

and other people , insults and clear,i must be to reply, said that things lie and never contribute anything, I give thanks for people who like to work

other people say that they have done something but never show anything, information is shared, it is a community

i have always worked and posted discoveries and tutorials, information is shared, not hidden, I have many tutorials and information in Spanish on maemo and symbian, Those who know me know that i share, i think that the knowledge is to all

Edit for interested persons in this post:

    video uploading to youtube now.......

in theory 800x480 is limit but how i am playing 1280x720?

    interpolate display?
    re-encoding?
    android ???

i can play 720p videos but how is it possible?

I don't doubt that it is possible to play higher res videos in nitdroid.....

BUT as said before it doesn't matter...
The N900 has a screen res of 800x480, and connecting to TV you don't even get that res unless you do some serious tweaking, so to conclude it is still better to re-encode videos to the max resolution of 800x480 or the 848x480 because there are no net gain beyond that anyway, and if you use something like H.264 at 900+kbps and your source is 720p or 1080p it really looks awesome, and takes up only 700-800mb for 90minutes.

I will for the record say that your work is not wasted, but i think i saw a thread like this before.....

But again the only gain would be if we had HDMI out in our N900.

Then we need somebody to test that. i personally think this will take to much CPU alone, so after that step it will probably not be able to play 720p....
