That is very odd indeed, I was extecting to see an improvement. The drop is not odd, percentage is re-evaluated on boot, it's normal. What isn't normal is the fact that battery is charged, fully, and charge is stopped, but percentage software never gets the battery full notification.

Your battery was full by 2 AM, but it doesn't seem to understand.

This is kind of desperate, but in your place, I would do this:

- Install BackupMenu
- Back up root+opt
- Reflash both
- try to charge.

If it works, it's a remnant of a software you installed. Many software could interfere.

- install BackupMenu from -devel
- restore phone to former glory.

Seems a bit radical, but that elliminates software issues completely. If it still does it, you are left with either a new battery or a trip to Nokia Care.

Wiki has extensive info on reflashing, but there is one thing you should know before starting. Flasher is designed for XP. Either you have XP or use XP Mode (VPC) in 7.

If you use BackupMenu, the phone will be back to its former glory, no questions asked. That is, complete with contacts, messages, desktop layout and everything but the time (yes, apps and app settings included). Do not mistake backup menu package with the phone's backup feature.

The BM works on reboot, if you power up phone with keyboard open. It allows backup, restore and a few other functions before the OS is loaded, much like an image/ghost software.

You can use virtualbox, or VMWare, but W7 comes with Microsoft Virtual PC already plugged. You only need to download the interface itself and the Windows XP image, both free from Microsoft.

Frankly, you should have this set up, reflashing an N900 isn't exactly rare, and if you have a software issue you may need to do it.

Oh, one more thing. MS VPC needs W7 Pro or better, Home isn't licensed to use XP Mode.

Or find an XP machine.

It seems like an undertaking, I agree, but after all has been set up, it's all down to a single line in the CLI.

If you go this way, you'll need:

1) Get VPC from MS
2) Get XP OEM image from MS (same page as the other)
3) Power up a virtual machine
4) Download the flasher and the image (wiki has links)
5) Put both in the same folder (C:\N900) in VM
6) c:\N900\> flasher3.5.exe -F Global13.bin -f -R (check with wiki)
7) Charge.

If it makes you feel any better, the first thing Nokia Care will do is flash it (as they should) and you aren't getting the data back.

So get BM, get yourself a backup so you know you're safe (use SD card if at all possible), then flash it. Feel free to take the card out during flash so you know you're safe.

I booted up and it says that 2 files are missing, lib/libattr.so.1 and lib/libacl.so.1 I think. I should probably fix this first right? lol you know how?

Yes. Ignore the files, they are leftovers from previous version and not needed. Just press enter twice and let it be, it will work fine.
