Though is he talking about dev or consumer device?
I also remember that blogger talking about all kinds of announcement days, but not getting it right.

somehow youve managed to contradict yourself in one post, im not sure how nokia is releasing two phones, yet only selling one qualifies as one device ... that not math, thats truthiness.

ive read every single one of your posts in this thread. the fact that you devalued your stock, with the 720p screen, and MeeGoCon announcement from another intermediary should be enough for anyone to take pause with what you write.

all ive been saying is wait till the FCC docs get uncovered, that much we KNOW will happen. your VKB device is vaporware right now, so till further notice, you have no story.

    curse you DSM!!!

indeed, but i would say he has a hit ratio of 80%

    man...

    consumer device = NEW device

developer devicer = old device, created before Elop, unreleased so far, so it's undesrspecced to be released as a competitive option to the public. So obviously Elop isn't coint it on the roadmap of new MeeGo devices to come.

In fact, we don't even know if the rumored consumer device is really part of the "3 until 2014" calculation. Maybe they arent considering the current build of Maemo as real MeeGo.

I personally HATE having touchscreen only devices... I always though I could never live without a hwd keyboard... But I have been left with no choice the hardware difference (even if so far only rumored) is too much of a difference between both devices... Plus so far, I have to blindly trust zehjotkah into thinking I won't be needing one... But I still have 2 weeks 5 days to wait so...yea... I am thinking if they announced the full official specs for the consumer device, shouldn't the specs for the dev also be made public? Not necessarily at the conference, but at least made available somehow.

when i first started reading this thread i thought the same thing. but now after some reaserch ie possible use of nokia sexy patents all that 'we will give you your head back up' etc i think that can actually work and tbh that would be a great step forward for nokia and the way to differentiate from others - touch screen that SENSE when you type on it and give you 'feedback' feel of it. come on nokia is brill with their hardware so i believe it will be something we have never seen before.

    I haven't contradicted myself.
"Releasing" two devices but only selling one happened before at Nokia. There was a developer device based on the N900, probably you haven't seen it. This was never intended for sale. It had an ugly (but functional) casing.

The only difference this time is that the developer device originally was planned to go on sales. This plan was changed back in October 2010. Since then it was used internally as developer device. But as there were already a lot of produced devices they decided to give them to developers in a community/developer device program. This program should start before the announcement of the consumer device.

So to sum up (I'm sure you've problems to read everything..):
Two devices released (as in given out from Nokia) but only one device goes on sales.

    Have a nice day.

marketed device (needs FCC) != other distribution channels device, but not marketed (= not sold) (needs FCC) != internal prototypes that you don't hear about (do not need FCC)
Nokia will market ONE harmatan device this year. The fact that you may encounter non-marketed nokia devices that also run harmatan does not contradict this point. The fact that Nokia may have plenty more prototype device that may or may not ever leave its lab does not invalidate that fact either.

It has been said by Elop (1 device), the device has been shown by Elop (no keyboard).

And zehjotkah never said that the consumer device had 720p. He hinted at the resolution of the device in the teaser (the non commercial device), and I counted 720 pixels and may well have been wrong. But z. never said it had so many.

So please make some efforts to understand what has been said in this thread.
