i have asked them, they didnt answered... maybe you could give it a try
as far as we "heard" it, the dev device was the one whic hshould came las tyear, but they had problems with the ffcc (afaik) so they needed to correct 1-2 things... and because they already had produces some devices, they have decided to give the "dev" device to devs for creating some nice apps...
