Hi guys,

First, excuse my english. I'm french ( nobody's perfect )

So, i hope I will find some help in this place, because I'm suffering, trying to install Debian on my N900.

I've downloaded the image and placed it in MyDocs ( 26 gb free).
I've got this error message when I have to decompress it:

"ERROR! DECOMPRESSION FAILED! Unable to install DEBIAN 5/6 IMAGE WITH oo;O3.2.1 UNKNOWN LZMA ERROR"

I have read a few soluces about, but any of them resolved my problem.

Here are the tools I've got in MyDocs to install Debian:

- the image downloaded
- easy-chroot_0.2.3-1fremantle1_armel
- easy-deb-chroot_0.9.56-1fremantle1_armel

I think that I took the good files.... ?

Thanx a lot for your likeable help.
Regards !

Try decompressing the .lzma image on your PC first, then transfer the file to N900's MyDocs/SD card via usb mass storage mode. After full decompression you should have a file ending with .ext ~2GB in size

From the Easy Debian wiki:

"This step is an alternate way to do the previous step: You can manually download the image file from here. Afterward you will have to copy it into /home/user/MyDocs/ or into /media/mmc1/ depending on whether you want it installed on the internal storage or on a removable storage. Then, when you run "Debian Image Installer" it will detect that you already have the file and proceed to extract it and set it up for you. For detection of your already placed debian* file stated above, the Debian Image Installer still need to connect to the internet for file checking purpose. If you have a faster computer with programs to unpack lzma-compressed files, you may also skip the Debian Image Installer by copying the uncompressed file by USB to the /home/user/MyDocs/ folder."
