What is the status of Media Player Classic support? I am considering writing an app for it. For my uses MPC is much better than VLC. There a several android apps for MPC remote control but none for Maemo it seems....

Sorry, not checked this thread for a while.

What shortcuts would you be interested in using?
Ideally being consistent with other media players:
    i.e. SPACE = Play/Pause

    etc

    Sorry missed this as well.

What does controlling MPC look like over http? Do you know if it's XML or JSON based etc? Haven't looked at MPC explicitly as I don't routinely run windows but if it fits the same model of control shouldn't be too hard to integrate.

What languages do you work with normally, maybe you want to get involved?

    cheers

Just wanted to let you know that vlc-remote has issues with latest cssu (16.8). A few seconds after connecting to vlc-server the program crashes without warnings or notifications.

I reported about this to cssu-thread as well, but the devs might miss it. One other user reported crashing as well.

Took the 15 minutes googling for instructions and couldn't find a friendly howto starting from installation. Could you provide a link, please?
