Just curious, does the DVD/CDROM you use have to be powered separately, or will this power off the N800?

I don't think the N800 would have enough power for any DVD/CDROM drive, most of them use quite a bit of power.

Very cool, thanks fo figuring this out and posting the how to.
I got a Mini usb to 'female' USB with a recent digital picture frame purchase. I tried a flash drive, but forgot to mount it and gave up. I feel dumb now.

Any guess for required modules or command line for the mount?

    Absolutely Not, Good Job

Perhaps someone wants to turn them into a deb, with a script to load them on boot. I will happily make the script and tarball,if someone will volunteer to turn it into a deb, and even perhaps put it in the repo?

Let me know, someone PM me if you want to help out with this

Hi. This is great. But... what about an USB hard drive ?
Is there any chance the trick could be similar ?

I wouldn't expect it to work well, but the geek in me wants to see anyway.
Add in libcaca to enable ASCII output of the DVD playback for the true geek setup

    It says :
"In order for the n800 to enter into host mode you need to flash the N800 to OS 2008 and obtain the correct adapter. What is required is a USB A (Female) to USB Mini-B (Male) OTG cable (sometimes called a OTG convertor cable)."

Is it really all ? (on n800)
Do someone cheked it on n810 ?
If yes, it really rocks !
