I've settled on Sony Ericsson K850i after confirming with tnkgirl that it gets good transfer speed using bt dun in the SF Bay Area. The initial impetus behind the question is the current situation where using a cellphone for 3g connectivity for an internet tablet often requires buying hardware which duplicates functionality i.e. the n95 + the n810 gets you two wifi connections...
