Tech demo first and then announcement? That's just plain stupid.
On the other hand, he could be first to show the device. After all, Ahtisaari is UX guy and Bonnici is Product and Technology Marketing Manager. But I doubt that he will announce the device.
no one will actually "announce" the device. They will only continue play game with us. I still dont beleive it will be released....
Above makes just no sense, in anyway.
Hey, i'm quite a bit of a spec whore, but even i can't find a justification for that kind of spec on S40.
I still hold on the 1ghz, 512mb on the RM-680 and on the consumer device, but it would be funny if S40 phone had the same SOC inside as "mobile computer" as Nokia calls it's Maemo/MeeGo line.

It could be disruptive if they sell new S40 for the price of old S40
As for smart phone, class the difference might be the software itself + options.

What would S40 gain for that kind of spec?
I can't see the benefits for normal S40 user being sensible in anyway to justify the extra costs for Nokia.
Though as he doesn't mention anything else than the specs so as far as we know(and probably is) he is talking about some future ideas for S40 or at most they are making S40 compatible with some platform able to have 1ghz SOC planted.
Yeah. This makes zero sense. Those extra hardware will be completely be wasted with S40 as it doesn't need them nor can it take advantage of them. Is S40 suddenly going to have better specs than N8/E7 and ditching the Symbian and going to make S40 their new high end platform? Yeah right. =P
I have a X3-02 and S40 runs as fast as it ever needs to be already. (especially at this price level)
