Why?
It has been said that N9 wont be coming to the markets where first wave of WP will be sold.
Like Finland gets N9 first, but no WP.
Looks like Dsmobile was right about one of the first WP phones being N9.
I think it has marketing disaster potential due to the confusion it's likely to cause. <rhetorical> Haven't there been enough mixed/conflicting/bizarre messages from Nokia? </rhetorical>
EDIT: Ah, I see we have confirmation that WP7/MeeGo target markets are mutually exclusive. <sarcasm> oh yeah, problem solved! </sarcasm>
Argh, I wonder if the distribution channels will have unlocked MeeGo phones when they're available in the US and the subsidized market which here in the states is how the vast majority of consumers get their phones will only have the WP7 version. I won't have an issue with this strategy if we the consumer have the option. But if Elop gets facist on the consumer it will definitely alienate the loyal Nokia followers that have somehow barely hung in there.
Choices is what drives markets, not sandboxing people into an option they do not want.
So Brazil will get WP7, possibly? it doesn't make any sense. We never were treated as a high-end consumer market. We always get the dumbphones, and the smartphones with a hell of a delay.
It's one of the biggest Nokia markets for sure, but WP7 have no presence here. And we have a gigantic open source community here.
Though as you are heavy on Nokia and are not over saturated on iphone or Android i can see how making WP for that would make sense.
N9 is certainly the right version for Finland rather than WP. Finland was no doubt only country in the world where N900 sold a lot and you could see it weelkly on the streets.
