the touch hold release then select action is implemented in the conversations list. can't it be implemented system wide? i know a lot of users are annoyed about this and it will be a great ease if this could be fixed. its so annoying when i have to hold down then drag my finger to the menu that i'd like to select, especially when opening new windows from a link in microb.

The scope is (from what I can tell) replacing/updating the applications which come from the Nokia SSU repositories.

Most of the things you list would require new standalone applications writing, so belong in the extras repositories. There's a rewritten media player in the works which may address the issue you mention (or at least allow it to be addressed in future).

Right, it's just like next update, but form community, not nokia. Makin' maemo better ^^.

Some feedback about tactile (doesn't it sound recursive? )

Now that people here were talking about tactile I wanted to remember how it was when tactile was not available, so, I disabled it in my transitions.ini.

And I think I will not enable it back for a while, because without tactile accessing the menu is faster.

For example, I'm a Spanish native speaker and when writing SMSs, every time that I want to write an accented letter, I have to access the special on-screen characters and tactile slow it down.

I like tactile feedback, however I think it needs to be speed up. When a new version arrives, I'll be glad to enable it again to test it.

correct me if am wrong... tactile is "Touch Screen Vibrabtion" and the option is in setting display brightness applet... is it the same app.or its different ??

RWFarley, I'll answer what I think I know:

I use desktop activity manager for that.

I use ShortCutD, then I say that in a LONG press of my focus camera button, it should issue this custom command:
dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=com.nokia.mafw.renderer.Mafw-Gst-Renderer-Plugin.gstrenderer /com/nokia/mafw/renderer/gstrenderer com.nokia.mafw.extension.set_extension_property string:volume variant:uint32:0

I use bluezwitch to fast turn on and off the bluetooth, but usually to reconnect I just need to hold the btooth button in my headset until the blue light start to blink and then it auto reconect in my case.

Using ShortCutD, saying that in a SHORT press of my camera focus button I should go to the dashboard - if you click X there, any app that require 100 backs before close will just close.
