speed is really awsome... seen changes now will update with the battery later ... hope everything goes well... this script has really made it much faster in task switcher
First patch :
was made to work on both N900 and Desktop PC
and it is just the one after doing
rm /home/user/.profile
mv /root/.porfile.bak /root/.profile
Second patch : it is just like the first one
but only adds some lines to rc.local
(THE ONE THAT SOME MEMBERS REPORTED IS THE BEST ONE)
Third patch : was recreated by thingonnaspring
changes the second patch from 60 - 100 lines into 10 -15 lines
and added lines to /home/user/.profile
BUT it only works on N900 NOT the Desktop PC
Forth patch : adds values suggested by epitaph (Many times)
But it ruined the ram and battery
Fifths patch (The current one): Removed the values suggested by epitaph
and adds lines to /root/.profile
Bottom line :
I think that adding lines to /home/user/.profile and /root/.profile
will decrease the performance
the patch recreated by thingonnaspring causes troubles for beginers
so added the patch-ALTERNATIVE.tar.gz wich solves the problem
SOOOOOOOOOO:
what do you guys suggest
1-) put thingonnaspring recreated patch + patch-alternative.tar.gz
but remove the /home/user/.profile (wich gives better performance)
this will make the patch works only on N900 not Desktop PC
and it will also make 2 patches
so users may get confused (as i saw in earlier posts)
2-)put the Second patch mentioned in log
and remove /home/user/.profile (wich will give better performance)
this will work on N900 and Desktop PC
and will be easy for begineers (they will not be confused)
IMO i think option 2
because it will be a simple file
it will get activated in 3 lines
there will not be an alternative patch
it will not cause troubles to beginer users
it will give the best performance (also option 1 does)
i don't prefer option1 :
because
there will be 2 patches (default one and the alternative)
users may get confused
noob users will have to use alternative
So what do you think guys ?
i need a vote
so i know what to do
edit: BTW after a few minutes of testing the new alternative version, I can say it is better than the one previously released, maybe even the best on yet. thanks!
i have released a new version for people having problems
read part3 at the first post
also fixed the battery drain since the 28/6/2011 update
the bettery drain was caused by some values (epitaph) provided causing the ram be in use all the time
but i removed them and every thing is normal now
PS you may wanna try enable both smartreflexes : vdd1 and vdd2
by editing
/usr/share/kernel-power-settings/default
and change vdd1=0 to vdd1=1
and vdd2=0 to vdd2=1
this will give 2x battery
but you will not be able to overlocak more than 805mhz (while enabling the smart reflex) it is a known common problem
and if any unexpected reboots occured
then disable the smart reflex by changing vdd1 and vdd2 to vdd1=0 and vdd2=0""
today i will install the alternative one..i will uninstall the previous one and install the new alternative one.i hav cpufrequi installed.i enabled smart reflex..is there any way that i can increase battery power.do i need to do this again? will it save more battery?
