Hello,

I have been unable to find a security log (something I thought was fairly standard on Linux distros) in Maemo 5. I want to be able to track log-in events for the root user. I have downloaded sysklogd but it does not appear to log ssh log-in or local root log-in. What can I do to get a basic security log on my N900?

Thanks,
Nick

Alright, I figured it out.

By editing /etc/syslog.conf and uncommenting the auth log I have produced a security log of sorts.

...just be veeeery careful. /var/log is on the rootfs, and symlinking it to the optfs /opt/var/log didn't work out so well when I tried it (reboot loop).
