I tried to get the new version of conky to replace the old one, i'm not sure why it let you put both at the same time. The 1.6 version would have been slower, but if you think this one is faster than the 1.9.7 from the garage as well... I'm not too sure. Maybe I accidentally built the old one in debug mode or something.

It's probably my #1 most used app too, but I can't tell the speed because I'm using lots of lua and cairo in my conf file. It takes about 3 or 4 passes to start drawing everything for some reason.

i suggest you charge your phone.
which kernel do you have? what does "hal-device bme" give for the percentage?

hello Creamy Goodness
yep i charged it
i have latest powerkernel 47
i use QBW for battery and qtbatterywidget so they both give right value(#1below) for battery but conky does not

#1.hal-device bme | grep percentage = 96%
#2.hal-device computer_power_supply_battery_bq27200_0 | grep percentage = 83%

conky shows #2 battery % but the correct is #1 so how can i fix it? can i fix it in conky.conf?
so some one help out thanks

I think you have to disable the bq27200 module .

Conky always tries to read the battery info from the sysfs paths first:
/sys/class/power_supply/bq27200-0/uevent
If that doesn't work, it falls back to dbus, which gets it from bme.

I don't like the bme ones because they don't update when the n900 is charging. I also don't like them because the source is closed and we have no idea what it's doing or if it's really more accurate. I guess the only argument for why it's accurate is it will shut your phone off when it thinks the battery is dead.
If you really don't like the bq27x00 driver's values, you can use the .conf file to obtain the battery info with $execi, just search this forum, there's about 20 examples of how to do it.

can you either attach the whole conf file or give us the entire battery command? I want to see a dollar sign and some brackets...
