What are you doing on your phone that requires a dual core cpu? Honest question...

One core for background tasks, another core for frontend tasks.

This is why a modern os survives at all

Only thing that would stop if on buying the N950 is the LCD display and no NFC.. If the display was an AMOLED and it had NFC.. I will donate sell my kidney in order to get one if I had to..

I haven't followed N950 so closely so excuse me for the stupid question but does the N950 have 12mpx like it was supposed to?

Yes, according to the FCC pics of the device it appears to.

So what if you could get the smooth uninterrupted performance with a single core and efficient OS.... Would you still want dual core???

I'm a bit disappointed in the home screen (or more specifically the lack of a panel with widgets). I'm also not too keen on the portrait bias for the dreaded apps list. As a community supported swan-song device, though, I could see those being dealt with.

That said, love the N97-hinge design. Love the dimensions and styling. Love the keyboard and screen. Love the very idea of continuing on with the N900 tradition.

I would definitely buy it, though.

Did I miss an announcement (and no, not Dmitri's dance) of the N950 being made available for all to consume outside of developers?
