Also, another concern when considering the second-hand market is that many of these devices have been overclocked to within an inch of their life.
Since you are such an expert on overclocking, perhaps you will tell me how to damage my N900 with overclocking. I've been trying for more than a year and haven't been able to do it.

In Maemo 4, we have few amount of softwares but i can find few apps but messenger apps, multimedia, web browsers and a system that is powered by a full GNU/Linux is a very interesting possibility. A very important item to me is a QWERTY keyboard.

The hardware of Nokia N900 seems to be very interesting, a very good camera, good conectivity, HSDPA running in a 2100 Mhz frequency (here in Brazil, the GSM Carriers operates in this frequency).

And other possibility is to run the Android 2.2 and WebOS Games using the preenv softwares and this can transform this cell phone in a true portable videogame and i like mobile games.

I would like to know if this cell phone can be a good option today, i work everyday with Linux and the Linux Console is not a nightmare to me and the previous experience with N800 was good (except because the slowness of operating system with a 400 mhz processor and few ram memory).

I think that this smartphone have a "geek appeal" but i want to know if nitdroid it's useful and can be considered as a option to run two operating system (Android to run new commercial apps and Maemo to be the main operating system and to test new possibilities (Debian for Maemo it's a very good option).

About my description, N900 can be a good option to me?
If you like Smartphones, then it is a good option because the N900 is a Smartphone.

Did that answer your question?

You're clearly not 1337 enough to be here. BEGONE UNTIL YOU CAN PUSH THE ENVELOPE PROPERLY and COME BACK WITH AN OVERCLOCK-DAMAGED DEVICE!

Oh comeon, danaramos! You thanked him for his post claiming that lots of people were running around with N900s damaged by overclocking. Let me know how to do it! I'll try almost anything having to do with overclocking! Please!

I demand a sacrifice of overclocked damaged devices! I was merely thanking him for it.

seriously if anyone thinks he is looking for the best so far ,N900 should be the first .
issues: no flash 10 update , flv videos lag sometimes, not much games availabe (like android or iphone has them) ..anyway internet is a world of modern people .you better check for yourself .
i definitely gonna recommend you to buy only N900.
Are you talking about that video where someone from here (I forgot the name) managed km player to play a video on some web pages but not replacing the context of page ? If yes , can you tell me how to do that please ?

Not damaged in the sense that they are malfunctioning right now necessarily, but in that their life expectancy is reduced. I don't think anyone disputes that overclocking a CPU (especially without additional thermal management measures) does that, and it's kind of an important consideration for a device you want to keep around for a long while, since they aren't making any more.

i would say go for it! its a phone made to be "molded"...and believe me it takes work to get it that way...but once you do...it is a trusty device I find still outdoes many "new" and so called or supposed to be better systems. if you like to tinker the experience cant be beat. throw an otterbox on it and its indestructible. physically. except if you step on the screen..lol..but why would you do that. internally as well because ive done some thing to this phone (mine) ...dammaging things on the os and itd die..but nothing a flash couldnt fix.
..if you can find a new one. and a non defective one.
