I just got a used nokia n810 and am trying to get evolution on my home pc and GPE calendar to sync.

I found instructions on how to do it with an n800. You have to create a root password. To do this for the n810 I found instructions to use becomeroot which can't be found. I did find rootsh and was able to set a passord.

The next step was to run ssh user@10.0.0.30 (where 10.0.0.30 is the IP address of your N800/Nokia 770). I did /sbin/ifconfig wlan0 and in the output I only saw one thing that looked like an IP address so that is what I used.

After I did that instead of being prompted for a password, I got an unsupported operation error.

I don't know if this is because rootsh doesn't really give full root priviledges or something.

Anyone have any suggestions?

There is no ssh service out of the box, you need to install openssh-server or dropbear-server first.

I install dropbox and got much the same error:

ssh user@255.255.255.0
/etc/ssh/ssh_config line 50: Unsupported option "GSSAPIAUTHENTICATION"
/etc/ssh/ssh_config line 51 Unsupported option "GSSAPIDelegateCredentials"
ssh:connect to host 255.255.255.0 port 22: Invalid argument

ssh user@255.255.255.0
255.255.255.0 is your netmask, not your IP address. Also, have you set a password for "user"?

I meant dropbear

I found the correct IP Address.

It looks like I have it.

Thanks
