There'll be a way to set separate wallpapers for portrait mode (yes, in the big update ).

After installing portrait hildon desktop, I killall'ed hildon-desktop and portrait was working fine. I also rearranged some of my widgets for portrait. After a reboot (IIRC) I lost all desktop switcher widgets, omweather and homeip. When I try to add them again they don't show up. Anyone else experienced this kind of behavior? I think they have gotten off screen maybe...

Found a bug with the latest version (18072011)
When your device is on portrait mode, and when it automatically locks himself (and I mean with a code), you can see what is happening in the background once you want to enter the code
Also when you press the empty space (so it asks you if you want to turn off the phone) it will show you the weird screen

    "Root shell enabled

    BusyBox v1.10.2 (Debian 3:1.10.2.legal-1osso30+0m5) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

    /home/user/MyDocs # dpkg -i hildon-desktop_2.2.142-13_armel.deb
    dpkg: error processing hildon-desktop_2.2.142-13_armel.deb (--install):
cannot access archive: No such file or directory
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    hildon-desktop_2.2.142-13_armel.deb"

I still keep getting this error message even though i have root enabled and I opened this from filebox.

Hi, I've been using this since you released it o 16th and have to say a big "Thank You". This should be something which should have been implemented by Nokia in the begining itself and thus, this makes you a genious and the Nokia engineers look like a couple of fools.
    Great work again!
I see that you've got rid of the black rectangle when switching desktops. Can I make a suggestion?
Since you said your portrait desktop works on the basis of saving the position of widgets in each orientation, is it too difficult to also make the wallpaper rotate along with the widgets using the same principle? I'm not a coder and its just a suggestion.

    Thanks again!
    cheers!!
