I tried installing the latest version of Gnumeric. After installing first a dependency

libgnomeprintui2.2-0_2.10.2-0indt1_arm.deb (successful)

I tried then 1.6.2/gnumeric_1.6.2-1indt1_arm.deb which failed/frozen:

It did not turn off for a while.

When an application freezes, what can you do?

Is there a reset button somewhere?

Can I find a logfile somewhere that helps debug the problem?

I installed one after another without rebooting in between. is it generally a good idea to install something, reboot, install, reboot? Or can you install multiple dependent things all before you boot?

Also, I can't get it to restart/reboot even with the battery charger plugged in. What is going on?

I would take the battery out for about 10 minutes, then reinstall. There is no reset button.

Yes, you're right. That did it. Perhaps the download was incomplete, but the second time I tried it, everything worked ok.
