I reflashed my N900 today cuz I was having THIS problem. but it came back with worse problem "general error". can't make calls or send/receive sms. says general error. IMEI doesn't show too buy pressing *#06#. I dun know wut else is screwed. I tried flashing again but same thing without change.

will the hard reset help? reflash with the 2 bin files?
Plz I just bought this phone after I lost my previous N900 last month, I dun wanna lose this one too.

    thanx in advance,

What firmware did you flash with? Have you tried flashing the eMMC as well as the firmware?

right now charging the phone to try with the eMMC as well. will it work? did I break any GSM thingy?

I restored backupmenu in the 1st time b4 this happened. but the file "/var/cache/apt" was broken somehow the reason why I reflashed the second time then this problem appeared "general error" haven't restored anything eversince

EDIT: owh yea, the 2nd time I restored the normal backup to get my contacts back. but there the problem was still the same.

try re-flash your eMMC first before you flash your filmware....remember not to include the "-R" on your command on flashing your eMMC....after you have reflash your eMMC,take out the battery for 10 seconds then insert it back before you start flashing your filmware....do not reboot/turn on your device between those flashing...

Thanx a lot brotha, I wanted such explanation
so 1st I'll flash the eMMC without the -R at the end
2nd, take out the battery for 10 seconds then insert it back, no reboot
then flash the frimware. shall I include the -R in this one?

the firmware you flashed with is PR1.2. if the phone was on 1.3 then the reason might be this.

yes second time you should include -R

BTW i don't understand the concept of removing the battery.

EDIT: just for your info -R is for restarting the phone .
