you can try removing all the widget, leaving just the unlock button

btw, in my phone, the memory usage is about 4%, that's around 10mb
-To all asking that clicking on the notification icons should open the message app, modest...: I'm not sure it would be a good idea.
This is a lockscreen, not a desktop. You can trigger all these actions by mistake with you phone locked in your pocket.
I agree with you. But maybe an idea would be just to be able to "select" one of the notify icons and if the phone gets unlocked within the next 2 seconds e.g. it could be open email or sms?
Or the icons itself could be used as slider to unlock the screen to start email, sms, phone or instant messaging?

Did you think about the idea to have the name of the callers shown under the missed calls icon (i think someone already was asking for this) ?
