Third time cycled, it's getting even better now:

Last Measured Discharge: 1607 mAh

Do I have the super scud? :P After fully recharging it shows level now at 1606 mAh presently.

Those charging scripts shouldn't make any permanent change to my device, right? Now my N900 was dying and it won't charge from PC USB cable any more. (I rebooted since last time I ran any of the battery/charging scripts).

I fear my USB port bit the dust. I'll try my wall charger when I get home.

In case of no warranty left, you still have the option to make a charging system like mine, or the other connection under the battery

Yeah, thanks again for all of your great ideas and tutorials in this area. I've been too lazy to assemble the Dual-Scud but now I have motivation out of necessity. I will try dual-battery mod first and move to more dangerous mods later. Or maybe fixing the USB port if that's truly broken...

I bought my N900 before Christmas 2009 and Nokia USA only has 1-year warranty, so the warranty is ancient history.

And Nokia USA is not trustworthy, in my dealings with them they have shown themselves to be friendly but incompetent cheats and liars. As far as I'm concerned Nokia doesn't exist. I will never again send them anything or buy any Nokia product (unless it's ghost shift chinese grey market Nokia accessories ).

That being said, N900 is the best and I don't want anything else. Well maybe if N950 fell off the back of a truck...

Just to make it clear for possible less-geeky readers, those charging script doesn't have possibility to pernamently damage Your system, AFAIK. Except some voodoo-like scenarios, where bme on its own, could also fail.

After taking phone to my car-charger and wall-charger, things charged normally, and then returning to my USB PC cable it charges no problem... so I think it was just bad voodoo like Estel says. Or the first signs of a breaking USB port on my N900.

What is the purpose of using charge.sh or charge21.sh ?

I just wanted to say that the two batteries I ordered from alixpress arrived perfectly in quite a surprising package and so far (no possibility of mAh measuring and really no intention of doing so :P) the performance is going on quite well. Lasts for a day on heavy usage and two of medium.
