    LOL!

I thought order number must be one valid as per Your account history... I overestimated Mugenians, it seems... Definitely worth adding to 2nd post. Thanks for this ridiculously funny, but useful info.

It depends what "standby" are You talking about. My standby uses ~3 mAh, (while still returning to live in less than 2 seconds), so it's ~1000 hours. More power hungry "standbies" - especially those with cellular network enabled, would go accordingly shorter.

There is no such thing as "universal" standby for N900... It depends not only on things I mentioned, but also in PR / CSSU / Kernel version, applications widgets installed, and tons of other things.

That's why You're reading about mAh value - that's quite universal way of measuring capacity. If You have 1300 mAh battery now, and You're comparing it to ~3000 mAh battery, Your personal standby will be as longer as 3000 is more than 1300.

I'm really sure You could get this conclusion without posting question, don't You (no offense)?

Well if you read post #1, you will note that it actually has 1510mAh conta the 1320mAh from stock battery, so it gives you more time, many TMO users has praised the longer runtime, which gives them a full days usage instead of having to back off at the end of the day.

EDIT: added the random/fake order nr info in post #2

Many thanks, dr_frost_dk, for the excellent work! I ordered the suggested Scud 1420mAh battery and have been using it for a few weeks now.

Also found the post about recalibrating the battery charging chip and after completing two full discharge/recharge cycles the charge level is at 1516mAh!! Could this info be added to the first page?

If I'm not doing too much with my phone, it can now manage 48hrs without seeing the charger

a note on the "disable" BME, the way i do it is to move the "file" Battery from /usr/share/applications/hildon-status-menu a directory back to /usr/share/applications, this also removes the battery icon in the status menu, but this is fine by me when i use my battery meter anyway.

The best thing with this is no more low battery beeps, yesterday it beeped for 6 hours before dying......
Also all other battery notifying goes away to, like plugin USB and it does not show that it is charging, my widget shows that it is charging tho...

0_o any gains, compared to just "stop bme" from terminal as root?

BTW, today, while calibrating (my last calibration was lost, due to accidentally leaving phone without battery inserted overnight), I was tired of waiting, and enabled every power-sucked that came to my mind. After a while, I got 1.3A power consumption and battery temperature of 68 celsius degrees 0_o.

Just as warning - don't overdo sucking power, Li-ions and derivatives hates such temperatures.

As effect of this (of course I momently reduced power consumption), I decided to scratch parts of foil around battery (of course on parts not touching N900 metal shields), to ease heat radiation. Also, funny idea came to my mind - To stick cooper radiators on battery back, and modify mugen backcover further - to contain removable plastic part. normally, we can't have radiators exposed all the time (they're literally battery +), so they can be covered totally, and when we want do perform high power-consuming tasks - like aircrack-ng'ing, we can just remove clip-able plastic part, to allow radiators do their job. After that, we can re-attach that part.

This way, we don't need to remove back cover on heat-up situations, don't loose camera cover (or camera at all) functionality, etc. I know, it's quite "extreme" modification, that most people don't need or care for, but I'm really tempted to do it

Don't think there are any gains, i just hate the stock battery system.

And on the temp note, my EV LiPo battery gets very very hot and has been doing so almost every day for 1.5 Years, no problems there, only power loss (Less Amps draw...), one of the reasons that my EV battery gets hot is that it is always discharged at between 1.5-3C (9C under Acceleration).
Now if that was applied to my N900 i would suck about minimum 4.5Amps constant, and peak 27Amps.

to conclude, don't worry to much about the temp, unless you can't hold your N900 without burning your hand, then maybe it's time to back off and let it rest
