OS 2008 is official for N810, but there is a different version of OS 2008 that is beta for N800.

I've seen a few posts hinting that there will be an update for the n810 coming out as well. I think they have made quite a few bug fixes in recent weeks, so I'd be supprised if there wasn't an update for both. For example the tap and hold context menus are supposedly fixed now.

I agree the N810 is probably due an update, but OS 2008 is an official release on that device, and should be treated as such (ie. we should expect good quality software and a well supported product) whereas the version of OS 2008 for N800 is beta so expect bugs and little by way of support. Hmm... why am I laughing to myself as I write this?

But does it really matter?

If a user treats it as beta, or not, what difference does it make to them. They may still experience bugs, crashes etc.
