^ just an update, i sent my phone into nokia care center in Texas here in the states. and they called me saying that my phone is out of warranty (which I know since it's been almost 2 yrs, and nokia US only covers for a year). I asked if they can look into the repairs and give me an estimated cost for the fixes. but they said I can't even pay for fixes, they only cover warranty fixes -_-

so they can't do anything with my phone *sigh* besides sending it back. this telephony functions disabled is really a pain in the ar$e >_<

guess ill just look for a used n900 at a reasonable price and use this one for playing around.

If you pay for repairs, why don't you ship it to a Nokia center that does repairs? They don't care where it's bought if you pay for it. Shipping isn't a killer.

Do you know anyone in a better covered country? If not, ask some other care centre if they repair and ship back.

FWIW I just had this problem. it was solved by flashing the eemc and then the fiasco image (from Linux), just like the docs say. I'm not saying this would work for everyone, but it's the most likely fix for most people.

strip the phone down mate, cover the main board with isopropyl then give it a scrubb with a old toothbrush or something similar. This happened to me only 2 days ago, dropped my N900 into a pint of cider, woke up and had the same problem as you. worked a treat

It doesn't seem to be good mate. From what I saw before, Ur N900 is dead 4 good. U can try this:

Start flasher 3.5 on Ur Xp machine :

Code:
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -u

It should extract zImage and roofts image

Code:
flasher-3.5 -c -h RX-51:2101 -2 2nd.bin-RX-51\:2101\,2102\,2103 -s secondary.bin-RX-51\:2101\,2102\,2103 -S usb
now connect device in flashing mode, U should get this :

Code:
flasher v2.5.2 (Oct 21 2009)

Using serial port usb
Suitable USB device not found, waiting.
USB device found found at bus 005, device address 004.
Waiting for ASIC id...
Got 69 bytes.
ASIC ID:
05 01 05 01 34 30 07 57 13 02 01 00 12 15 01 3f
8f 41 14 07 41 48 49 d9 b5 94 4b 98 89 00 fb df

b2 ac 95 53 88 41 4f ab cd 66 15 09 01 f7 48 8f
28 a0 27 e5 b3
Sending 2nd image (14720 bytes)... done.
Sending ping... timeout!
failed.
Sending ping... pong.
Sending secondary (109440 bytes)... done.
If it is done, U now have temp boot loader

Code:
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin --flash-only=nolo -f
I hope that will help U
take care
