Hi all,
I am from India using Aircel connection. From 7days back I am using Aircel Pocket Internet, No problem was there. But yesterday I have installed some apps and uninstall some previous apps as well.
Now the problem starts, whenever I am trying to connect gprs....
showing "cellular network not available" & my network signals go off for a few seconds and coming back automatically.
ans giving option "Internet connection failed. try again" whenever I am trying to connect gprs....same things happening.

What should I do????

Maybe Ur mobile internet connection settings changed. Try to check al acces points or maybe get them again by sending text massage with the right code. Check Ur network website. U should find some useful informatoins out there. Let me know if it worked.

i think you may have installed auto-disconnect and have the option selected to switch to 3G whenever you connect to the internet. if so, you would be unable to connnect since aircel doesnt have a 3G network yet, and you are bound to get an error. try uninstalling auto-disconnect or changing the settings to not change the connection type to 3G while connecting...

I also had this problem...
the actual problem is with N900.. not with any carrier..

i used to get this "cellular network not available" error whenever i tried connecting to gprs or 3G..

but i noticed that, when i keep one of my "conversations thread" open.. i can connect to the gprs / 3G. maybe the problem is with the firmware.. i re-installed the firmware and it connects now.

isn't there any way to correct the problem without flashing again??? :O :O :O

In my case it was auto-disconnect. Even tough settings were off, it seems like somehow they were not really the ones used. Saved settings and tried again and it worked. Maybe an update set a custom configuration for that (or the optimization scripts are involved) and that's why it failed.

I had a similar problem. I had set AutoDisconnect to switch from 2G to 3G when using data and auto switch back to 2G when 3G data is idle. This was working fine until I switched to a network that only had 2G. The first time after setting up the new 2G APN it connected ok, but all subsequent attempts failed. When trying to connect the 2.5G icon disappears then after a while an error "cellular network not available". After much fiddling and headscratching it occurred to me to check the AutoDisconnect settings and subsequently disable the Auto-Switch 2G/3G setting after which everything worked again.
