the only best developer in the whole maemo community is MAG.
I don't understand people like you. What do you want to tell us.
Just to be sure you got this: This is a community, and in a community is every work appreciated, even if it is just a small contribution. (What in this case isn't true). If you're n900 got problems after that patch, than its not the fault of karam, he never said that there is no risk in installing the patches he has written.
So if you install things which are not said to be stable and you complain that your device is going mad, you are an idiot.

I would like to thank karam, MAG and all the other developers for their effort in getting the best out of the N900. Without such people i would probably have already bought another device.

Thanks guys! keep up your good work!

Since updating to latest version of battery patch and changine my overclock profile governor to 'conservative', Ive seen a further 5-10% battery life.

Before these 2 changes when I got home Id have about 70% battery, now I have about 80%.............

edit: oh, BTW I have a scud battery too.........

I've got mine set to "conservative" by default... I did nothing this time. Just installed batterypatch and upgraded when available.

Hey guys, I keep getting this error in the x terminal after the last battery patch update:

-sh: /home/user/.bashrc: line 5: cannot create /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/1815/tasks: nonexistent directory
-sh: /home/user/ .bashrc: line 5: cannot create /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/1815/notify_on_release: nonexistent directory

Edit : I noticed that the cpu/ folder is empty..

The last version worked perfectly but after the update it kept restarting each time the screen was locked.. I somehow managed to uninstall it and the device workd perfect again, then i tried to install it again, the device is again restarting each time i locked the screen and i cannot uninstall it anymore, i tried HAM and Fapm and dpkg -P but non worked .

When i type dpkg -P in x terminal it says:

dpkg parse error, in file '/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 55347 package 'modest-nokiamessaging-plugin-l10n-nlnl ' : EOF during value of field 'Version' (missing final newline)
now i cannot install or remove any app

how am i supposed to solve this ? i just want to remove the batterypatch

    Hi!

I just did first time install of both patches from repos and ran terminal after reboot and first thing is same error GuiTARisT_90 posted above.

As I can see .bashrc now contains few lines:

    BusyBox v1.19.0 (Debian 1.19.0power3) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

    -sh: /home/user/.bashrc: line 5: can't create /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/2585/tasks: nonexistent directory
    -sh: /home/user/.bashrc: line 5: can't create /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/2585/notify_on_release: nonexistent directory

    ~ $ cat .bashrc
    if [ "$PS1" ] ; then
    mkdir -p -m 0700 /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$ > /dev/null 2>&1
    echo $$ > /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$/tasks
    echo "1" > /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$/notify_on_release
    fi
    ~ $

Manually creating /dev/cgroup/cpu/user dir and assigning write permissions work, but when I close terminal folders remain there -- each time new terminal windows is opened, new directory is created and files are not deleted after close.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks,
    b.

for the above problem, just reboot. as Karam said earlier, that is just to let you know speed patch is not running which normally occurs because of an unexpected shutdown. a reboot should sort it out.
