Seriously would like to help You, but I have no idea what may be causing this. It seems very strange for a hardware failure, but who knows...

The most strange part is that You can boot up device using normal mode, but R&D fail... I've never heard of something like that.

Could You please search forum for "framebuffer kernel" and try it, especially in R&D mode? We could check what it's complaining about (You'll see framebuffer output, instead of 5 dots).

I used win7 OS( i know people reported some issue with win7 but it worked fine for me)..
i used below images..
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.004_PR_COMBINED_004_ARM
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.
I am at the stage where i dont even know if this is a battery problem. Hw problem or software problem..
please advise if i can somehow figuure out what is the problem??
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.004_PR_COMBINED_004_ARM == old: Fourth Maemo 5 India release for Nokia N900.
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM
== ok: Latest Vanilla version of the eMMC content for Nokia N900
NOTE: Always flash the eMMC image first, then the FIASCO image immediately after that. Never boot up the device between flashing the FIASCO image and the eMMC image! When flashing eMMC always also flash FIASCO rootfs - NEVER boot the device between the two flashes.

You should be using:
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.36-2.004_PR_COMBINED_004_ARM
which is: Latest Maemo 5 India release for Nokia N900
