Try to do with emmc same thing as with rootfs image -> turn off phone -> start flasher with emmc and start phone with u-key+connecting usb.

Check usb port you are using (recommended is that you use the main usb ports, normally in back of desktop pc)

If still fails then try live linux cd and flashing from there.

.edit
Oh dear god. Did you read wiki?
http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...mware#Option_3
"...but the eMMC image stays at "no suitable device found. Waiting"....move onto option 4. "
Try first stuff from there as I said and then come here to ask more questions.

To all who are on Windows 7 (both 32 & 64 bit) try Windows XP Mode which is freely available on the Microsoft site and does not require hardware virtualization also now.

I use Windows XP Mode everytime I need to flash my phone and it works like a piece of cake.Never had an issue with it till date.

I had to flash my phone when it got stuck with PR1.3 update.

First I tried with Win7, but it did not work. I was able to reflash with a different computer on WinXP. AFAIK, Win7 does not work, as it has stricter check on driver signatures and Nokia has not signed the driver in question. Win7 driver validation check can be relaxed, but the procedure is complicated, so better find an XP computer.

If you want to totally start fresh and have your device back to an "out of the box" state then this will help.

First we need to download a couple of things,

Grab a copy of the flasher from,

http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-d...-downloads.php

Then grab a copy of both the eMMC image and also the OS from,

http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php

Both files needed are named as follows,

RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin
RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin

You will need a copy of your IMEI number for Authentication for the OS and eMMC download. Which can be obtained from taking out your battery or logging in to your Nokia account.

Once you have downloaded all three files you will need to run the flasher-3.5.exe and install it.
Once the flasher has installed you will need to navigate to where the programme installed (c:\Program Files\maemo\)
You will then need to copy both the eMMC and the OS files in to folder.

You will then need to turn your device of and connect it to you PC via the USB cable while pressing the U key on the keyboard (This sets the device in flashing mode). If this is done correctly you will see a NOKIA sign across the screen and a USB sign in the top right corner. Also note that the display does not light up.

Now you launch a command prompt (Start, Run, cmd)

Once inside the command prompt you will need to change the directory with the following command,

cd "c:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5"

Now you are in the directory of the flasher we will start to flash the eMMC first with the following command,

flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

The flasher will now begin, If you see the following message "suitable USB device not found, waiting." please disconnect wait for a few seconds and then reconnect whilst holding the U key on the keyboard. If this still does not work please try a different USB port. The flasher will then start to flash the device.

Now that the eMMC has been flashed you can flash the OS,

Whilst still in the command prompt enter the below,

flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

You will now see the flasher begin to flash the OS, if you see the message "suitable USB device not found, waiting." please follow the same procedure as you did when flashing the eMMC.

Once the device has been completely flashed it should boot up and will be as new.

Hope this helps.
Hi. I have a problem with my N900, firmware flashing is successful always but eMMC is NOT, when my N900 flashing is done! I'm typing everything correctly like everybody who made it successfully but straight away it shows me

and in right corner of my Windows XP SP2 appears little sign and it says that - A problem occurred during hardware installation. Your new hardware might not work properly. What do I need to do ? With flashing everything is OK, my PC is recognizing my N900 well and firmware is going without any interruptions but the only problem is eMMC flashing, I've even tried to flash eMMC first but same prblem....HELP ?!?!!?!?!!!!?
