Lightspark requires a version of libxml++ that Maemo doesn't have, and also requires gcc 4.4, which we also do not have. Someone will need to backport fixes into it before it can actually work.

If an older version of libxml++ must be supported the following commits must be backported:
It will be easier to compile, package and use newer libxml++ than modify existing old package.
I think only needed modification for Ubuntu Natty's version is
examples/dom_parser_raw/main.cc :88
- contents_ucs2 = Glib::convert(contents, "UCS-2", "UTF-8");
+ contents_ucs2 = Glib::convert(contents, "UCS-2", "UTF-8", error);
Can we all pool our money together and post a bounty for the developers that develop a working gnash for the N9?
I think we should have a list of 10 websites it must work on and description in order to pass the test to receive the bounty.
if you change n9 to n900 in your post than i would be willing to donate if i got a video playback on megavideo, sockshare and similra sites with performance similar to flash 11 already available on n900(but with rebooting to a crappy OS first unfortunately...)
and as this is a thread on maemo forums for gnash for maemo i think that most people here aren't interested in gnash or flash on n9, which is in my opinion a sub-par device when compared to n900 and so i'm not going to buy it...
