Normally, conspiracies like "it's an inside job" or the like go ignored by me... but it's rather uncanny that these spammers are doing tactics that are posted or advertised here in this thread.
If any other changes occur, I kindly request that the admins just don't tell us. Perhaps that will assist a bit and make their progress that much harder.
Even if there are few readers in this forum stupid enough to follow the spam links they are targeting it. This may be because most search engines now detect and ignore "link farms" so they need their links mixed in with real content in order to get a better place in search results.
The forum should be altered to add the rel="nofollow" to all links posted in messages. At least until the user has reached a certain number of posts without having been reported.
That way these spam messages won't contribute to the spammers google rank in any way.
Ok, this idea may sound really stupid but I'm hoping if we can get the active community members clicking on individual links (yes, its similar to clicking ads on certain places in order to support the place of one's interest) that are related to spam.
