Why there aren't tracking solutions for TK-102 (or similar) gps-trackers on N900/N9 ? Cheap for tracking pets, cars etc:

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/handhel...er-black-72133 or search for TK-102 on ebay.

Ios and android have several tracking programs. Can somebody program one for Maemo/Meego ? I will give many many thanks !

it just so happenss that I bought one a couple of weeks back
to evaluate for tracking a small fleet.

The tk102 is little more than attractively packaged rubbish.
Firmware, connectivity, even the boot process gps lock
    are hopelessly stupid.

    that said,
    However,...

I am stuck with this unit and will look into
making it work in SMS mode
(GPRS mode is a futile waste of time and fraught with frustration.)

will let you know here on this thread how it works out.

    cheers

Yes, I know. Also there are many variants with different sw-versions. SMS is good for me, because I want to trace my dog which disappears sometimes. GPRS is also power hungry.

    cheers!

    Stay tuned

Unfortunately I don't have much time to work on it, but I'm working on a little app for the tk102.
Here is the screenshot. I have more a lot to done...

    Now works:
    - the button for the call.
    - the button for reading the last SMS received.
    - the button than open the google maps link

I still lack management via SMS.
