i seriously doubt they are going to replace their classic tune with this one.

    any sources that confirm this?

i'd rather have the star trek one.

I don't really like dubstep (unless if it's 500 meters far away). But on handsets this will just sound even more awful. You know, dubstep relies on bass, mostly. You can't expect a subwoofer on those tiny pocket machines.

I'd rather have static noise as my ringtone.

Comment on the nokia blog from the composer of that awful music:

By Valerio Alessandro Sizzi on Oct 11, 2011 1:50 AM

*********************************** Hi to everyone! At my own risk, i answer to all of you. First of all, my tune WON'T BE REPLACED by the original Nokia Tune, so do not freak out! It's gonna be in the ringtones list, JUST AFTER the original Nokia Tune, so you're gonna be COMPLETELY FREE to CHOOSE the version YOU LIKE as your ringtone. Lot of people are kinda mad/disgusted/delusional about Nokia's choice. I can understand that this tune is not an "easy listening" product but when it comes to tastes, every idea is acceptable so all the hating comments do not affects me . I've just made the entry to the competition as my personal interpretation of the Nokia Tune thinkin' about what the freshest sound is according to the rules and the brief of the contest. As i said, feel free to like or dislike my work, my mission was not to change people's musical tastes or being a pioneer of a genre, it was just about creating a ringtone. In any case, this experience is giving me lot of attention with radio and newspapers interviews in Italy. I think i'm gonna live all this as a point where to start my career in a different way, not as the ultimate goal! Enjoy life Valerio Alessandro Sizzi **********************************************

One reason, and one reason only to use this dubstep tune, especially if it is for a startup tune. You will not notice how laggy and jumpy the startup video is if it matches the laggy and jumpy startup tune along with it.

I'm a dubstep fan but I have to admit, I like the jazzy ones more.

At the risk of heading off-topic, Deadmau5 made one good track - with some help from Pendulum - a long time ago, and wears a big red mouse mask. As far as I can tell, he peaked there.

IMO there are many more exciting producers out there, and many of them have a better attitude with it.
