Looks like there's no issue with the filesystem so I guess its either up to you or pelago or someone else to reveal the file which is the potential culprit that prevents you from saving messages.

Apart from that for now my only suggestion is a complete reflash (vanilla+combined).

No way! I just did that and I'm done completely customizing the phone. :/

I read the first page and solved it by deleting the entire corrupt conversation database, it was showing only 3 text messages I got today, but meh.. at least it works again.
