unless your XP is a professional version, it won't support Remote Desktop (unless you hack it, see google for further info) - worth checking that before doing any more techy diagnostics?

    Yep, most likely.

Or/and you have to add this user to the groups of "remote users".
    There are two ways:
one is afair directly with right-click on MyComputer / Properties and somewhere on those tabs.
second is to right-click on MyComputer / Manage and goto users. Then add this user to the group of 'remote desktop users'.

    Still no luck...
i've disabled firewall, in windows it's says that the user has already access to this computer, it's a improvment, (thanks to this firewall disablig), at least i got a win xp message on n900, that is:

Logon Message: "Make sure your User name and domain are correct".
in rdesktop i left Domain tab blank. What i have to write there?
    thankyou again!

if you have no domain, it should just be left blank. Have you checked that the user/password don't have auto-capitalisation (i.e. n900 making the 1st letter a capital when you don't intend that)?
