You don't need HJ split.
To join multiple files, use cat on your command-line, like

cat multi-archive.rar.* >single-archive.rar

And for the opposite, use split on your command line.

HOZ: hacha clone for GNU/Linux and Windows.

It's a console program (it has a GUI too), so I think it can be ported to Maemo easily.

If you try to join a splitted wmv file cat sometimes fails whereas hoz doesn't.
