What is i2cget binary? Is the source available?

Yes. It's also packaged ( i2c-tools ). The binaries will be put to /usr/sbin, so you have to modify the path in the scripts
I must say that i2c isn't a playground at all. this script caused some kernel panics on a 2.6.37* meego kernel, not funny.

meegocharge.tar for meego-kernels works for me. Don't know about anything else.

Just to give some good news:

-I have installed Ubunut 11.10
-and installed the omap libraries: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/OMAP/Graphics
- it's working good but now the unity is gone all I can get is a terminal with the ctrl+shift+t combination.
-I cannot install any apps after the libraries got installed
-the secondary charachters are not working on the keyboard (/ _ -)

- we really should make the charging possible as my N900 just shut down two times during the installations and tweaking beacause the battery was empty

Can we use this to make hw-acceleration possible?
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#...o_Acceleration

It's beagleboard and it is using SGX530 just like our sweet n900.

Good news from oFono developers. Has anyone tried this with Kubuntu on N900 yet?

Keneraali, there was some talk about ofono already (on page 14 here)
Somebody 'wanted' to compile it for Ubuntu
The code is in C but there are plenty of very specific things that do not compile immediately - the best is if the developers themselves did that (somebody needed to ask them for this help )

Thanks a lot to NIN101 for his nice info, now we have power management and the battery charged
(almost 'out of the box' )

Did that mean charge21.sh worked for you? (didn't check it yet)
NIN101, do you know who is the author? Is it published as FOSS?

? What's working good than?
Can you check if bufferclass_ti module is present?
Code:
# modprobe bufferclass_ti

Yes, looks like Desktop version have some conflicts with the keymap

P.S. If someone wants to I can share write access to the installer script I don't know yet how exactly that should be done on launchpad, but I'd like to find out.

int_ua, hello!
I ran charge21.sh (size 5840, md5sum d90c20072f9056dc2147e50427fbc0db) with i2cset taken from meegocharge.tar (from the same page). That gave 'right' answers from bq27200.sh (und - - power adaptor warm ) (did not try with USB yet, and do not know about precompiled i2c-tools - hopefully will work; And maybe - who knows - there are some other ready tools to access hardware in that sensors-package...)

I would not recommend trying to charge anything via charge21.sh with USB plugged to computer. AFAIK, charge21 tries to pull more "juice" that regular USB ports allow (500 mA). At best, operating system will disable port and shout at You, at worst, You'll burn fuse of port in use (or all ports - actual outcome depends on motherboard implementation - good ones will just shout, bad ones got burnable fuses or even one fuse for all ports).

Actually most PC mobo's can probably pump out ~1A...
