I ported the 2.6.28.10 fixes to the Fremantle kernel, and built it with GCC 4.5 (after a few more compile fixes I did myself).
No promises, I haven't even tested it myself yet!

If he is skilled kernel-coder, it would be good to convince him into submitting (real) patches to KP, instead of re-doing kp42 work.
No promises, I haven't even tested it myself yet!
