is there a way to Reset SSH Root Password without reflashing??

have you try purging SSH from your device???
it works on my device....

If your user has sudo permissions you could simply execute:

sudo -i
which will give you a root prompt and from there you go about doing the normal things like:

passwd
(edit) I have forgotten to mention that if you have flasher tool handy (again you won't need to relfash your device), and you are not running windows. You can simply enable R&D mode and from there you boot the device (N900) up in R&D mode which will show you all the fancy green words at that nokia logo with an icon below the nokia logo. You then go into X-Terminal and you do:

sudo gainroot
That should give you a root prompt without any further questioning.
