In Washington DC Metro with T-mobile, I get 4mb down and 1mb up consistently.
When I first moved to my house, I actually hooked up my N900 to a Debian box and used the modem function to share the N900's connection over a wi-fi AP.
Worked like a champ for a month before I could get FiOS installed.

Just checked speed on my n900 t-mobile uk and i got 115 kbs download using app named speedy! It was 3.5g by the way is that good?

my operator which is called Zong hosted by China Mobile in Pakistan gives me max 2.7 kb sometime. average speed is 1.4 kb.

Ran the speakeasy test like 20x
average I have to say is about 3.2Megabits down and .95 up. Sometimes it jumped up to and even over 4 megabits down but up was more stable staying between .88 and 1.10
