Steve Jobs should die for doing this to mankind... oh wait he's dead.
Well he actually HAS some valid points.

I don't know why you think you have a right to moan if you are the other way around totally unable to provide something with a similar quality yourself!
Jesus calm down (comming from right person

But cant you people take some critic et all?

I personally writing apps and infact is planing to release "yet another password app (using NFC as Master password)" but he HAS valid points. Now I reconsider using some already existing database atleast instead of creating my own.

Another thing noticed about apps. AFAIK there is three dropbox clients NONE is using the sharingAPI in harmattan why is that?

Would be awesome to have "shareto dropbox" in Gallery/mediaplayer etc...

But I also know there is plenty of apps where people are great making good "backendcode" but UI sometimes is not good at all.

Personally I think we need more people working on "design" maybe threadcreator and similar people can help here?

Personally I think people should learn take tips from "whiners" instead of being pissed, as long as the rant is not totally crap.

And you are up to his mark? The only dreamer is you, thinking that keeping quiet will lead to better apps. Or maybe you just don't care enough to ask developers for better software. In that case you should just keep quiet and let others try to correct the situation instead of criticizing them.

Did I moan at FOSS developers to give us their free time for nothing? What makes you think we expect free software? I'm just expressing disappointment at a general situation so don't take it as an attack on developers. Developers also need feedback so it may help them identify what the users want. Not everybody can be programmers and I don't buy the argument that if you can't create an app you can't complain about app quality.

If only you would channel your rants into constructive app criticism at the right people or forum topics, that would be great. Donate. Draw pictures of what you think a good app GUI should look like and mail it to the devs. File bug reports. Sign up for beta testing. Create petitions. Whatever.

So many things you can do, but you choose to rant and all that does is annoy us. Especially good hardworking devs like Marxian.

We all need criticism, that's how the world works. You want to criticize apps, but when we criticize you for being lazy ranters, you get angry.

Well I managed to build & run Fremantles GTK (+ it's Python bindings) on Harmattan.
There are some issues though:
  • weird build issues in some OBS projects
  • doesn't trigger the virtual keyboard, preventing text input on the N9
  • lack of touch friendly theming
BTW, help with solving those issues would be much appreciated.
