I know a bunch of you guys run Linux which automatically limits the number of games you can run... and the fact that many don't play games limits things even more, but I'm wondering. Anyone play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory?

I've been playing for about a year on the Old Farts server (which is great because most of 'em are older and aren't so cutthroat/insane as kids are.) If you accidentally dump a round of ammo into your teammate's head, all you do is say 'Sorry!' and all's forgiven, no complaints, etc.

Anyway. If any of you guys play, msg me and I'll send you the server IP and let's mix it up!

(It's a free game and works under Windows too)

Used to play ET a lot, haven't played much in the last 6 months. All of the insane mods and the seeming decline in player quality got to me, I was probably just on the wrong servers, though.

Sorta in the same vein, you guys might want to check out Tremulous. It's kinda of intimidating for newbies as the gameplay is very different from most FPSes and rather complicated, too (sorta similar to Savage in that it's an FPS/RTS combination, but with more of a focus on the FPS side). But there are a lot of great players and many good servers out there, and it's a ton of fun to play once you get past the long introductory period.

I usually hang around Dretch*Storm or one of the Mercenaries Guild servers. Same name as here, so hit me up if you see me.

Yeah I used to play it allot, now a play Open Arena (A Quake 3 clone), Gunz (An odd RPG/FPS), Avalon: The First Age (A text-based MMORPG), Cube , Sauerbraten, and ET only a little bit now. I used to play Nexuiz (or something like that). As for non-free games I play Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic, Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, and Star Wars: Battlefront 2. And a bunch of others I can't remember.

I kid! I kid!

Online games are a rough deal. Not much of a learning curve when you're been playing them for most of your life, but I don't know many who have been recently introduced (or haven't put much time into them in the past) that the hand-eye coordination (or, more accurately, time and desire) to acheive any sort of skill level.

See? That's my problem: Me being an old fart against all them young turks. I get fragged in a second. Also, I think God Mode is the bestest invention ever.

(About meaningless posts: Dude, it's saturday night over here, it's freezing outside, I have ample amounts of legally available narcotics (alcohol, that is) at arm's reach -- Seriously, what did you expect?)
