I wanted to install the simple launcher applet on my n800 so that I could have icons on my main screen instead of digging around for favorite apps.
When I tried to download it, all went well until the very end and then a box popped up that said "unable to install simple launcher". What would be the reason for this and how do I fix it?
I did a search and found info about simple launcher but not about anyone else having an issue installing it.
Try rebooting your tablet and then refreshing your applications. If you are installing from a repository, select simple launcher from the installable applications list and then select the little blue (i) icon. it will then tell you if it is installable or not. if it says not installable, tap the problems tap. It will tell you what other dependencies or applications are needed for simple launcher to run. This is my first try at trying to help somebody so be patient.

Oh also....you may want to use http://www.gronmayer.com/it/to install repositories that you may need for other applications you want to install. Just select OS2007 and you can even do a search for the application you want to install.
I have installed the latest version of Simple Launcher on my N800 OS2008. Instead of saying installed it says updated which signifies to me that a previous installation is still present even though I deleted and uninstalled everything. The checkbox remains checked even though the app has been deleted. Even through a reboot. I never have an opportunity to change the settings because it nothing ever appears on the screen.
As far as the 'update' problem I used application manager to uninstall and file manager to delete the repository. Yet it still says updating with 0kb.
