I seemed to suffer from green tint when viewing my display on an angle. I thought it was perhaps due to CBD. However when I stumbled upon this thread http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=4730
It seemed to be not the case

However, recently my brother just bought Nokia N9 himself, his unit is perfectly fine, no strange green tint as observed on my unit and as described by the thread I showed on above. It had me baffled.

All pentile AMOLED displays should exhibit this.
This is a way more informative thread:

    Read it from the beginning....

But it's strange that my brother's unit did not display this behavior. I compared it side by side. The amount of reading does not justify the physical traits I observed. It is very diffirent, unless newer batch uses different display tech.

I took some pictures to show the difference that I am talking about. In the picture, you can see the my unit has a green cast over it when viewed with a slight angle. While my brother's unit doesn't, the pictures can be a bit deceiving as it shows that my brother's unit has a slight purple/pink cast but I can assure you that it doesn't in real life.

    Interesting kai_en...
Mine looks similar to yours. How about the max brightness of the two different displays? Are they the same? And what about those black spots on a dark background that you can see in pitch darkness?

Not my picture, but you can see what i'm taking about:

You need to observe it in complete darkness. It is only visible on a black background.

That also is already explained in this thread, 100% worthwhile reading the entire thing

It could be two different panels techs....
In the thread I linked to, that's talked about at one point.
There's at least two diff. panels: one Samsung & one LG.

Hi kai_en, I think there's no need to read the whole thread jalyst was recommending. But if it's possible, can you please borrow your brothers N9 and take a look if:

    1. for example in browser, or Gtalk/Skype, where's a light or white background, this effect appears? - http://blip.tv/ossi1967/nokia-n9-display-issues-5657368

    2. when you take the phone to the completely dark room, wait for some time so your eyes can adapt to the level of the light, do you see some darker/lighter spots on the screen?

It seems, that Nokia maybe changed the panel supplier/fixed the N9 screen issues on the newer batches. So once again - please can you confirm if these aforementioned issues appears on your brothers N9, or if it's just the color tint, that's different.

Any reply will be strongly appreciated! Thanks.
