They just bought another OS today, that's right another OS.

I think we need to start a kitty for psychiatric services for Nokia's management. They obviously have no idea what direction they are going in.

As much as I hate to say it they really should have just went with android, it could have been one single platform for all their phones. In the US we have seen $50 unsubsidized android phones, so it could have easily spanned from flagship to feature phone.

Then maybe their so called pet project (maemo/meego) development could have continued.

Looks like some of the basic Java/Symbianism OS's that you would see on the Chinese Clone phones

Why would buy this, is it all apart of plan for global domination?

I got a feeling Nokia bought it for some element on it that it adds to S40 or meltemi.
Would make no sense to use it as it is.... i hope.

I hope not and thankfully neither are they going to. Just pick one you like from the +100 manufacturers making Android phones already.

I thinik I can see Nokias plan to gain their their place in the mobile OS world.

Step 1: Ditch the OSes you have been working for years and spent billions on

Step 2: Pick up random OSes noone likes or knows (WPhail and random norwigian OS)

    Step 3: ????

    Step 4: Profit

    Sounds like a good plan

It's not uncommon for companies to buy crap to prevent competition. They probably won't do anything with it and bought it to kill it for some reason.

that seems to be their forte.

On another note I learned that they no longer control symbian, they farmed the management out to accenture?!?
